Bans AI-generated images on its platform
Recently, Zomato has announced a strong stance against the use of AI-generated images for dishes on restaurant menus, citing customer trust issues and negative impacts on businesses.
Deepinder Goyal, head of Zomato revealed that AI-generated images led to customer complaints, resulting in higher refund rates and lower ratings for restaurants.
“We are requesting our restaurant partners to avoid using AI for food images in restaurant menus from now on. We will actively start removing such images from menus by the end of this month. And we will stop accepting AI-generated food images (as long as we can detect them through automation),” Goyal said.
