YouTube is introducing several new AI features to make it easier for marketers to promote their products and services. Announced during the Event made on YouTube On Wednesday, videographers got a sneak peek at several new tools that are expected to launch in the coming months.
With the help of artificial intelligence and an “Inspiration tab,” videographers will soon be able to create unique video backgrounds and get personalized title, thumbnail, and outline recommendations based on users’ style. With distinctive video backgrounds and eye-catching thumbnails, AI could grab the attention of potential customers browsing YouTube. What’s more, it could even be possible for AI to generate new video topic ideas related to a product or service.
“It’s not about replacing ideas,” said Sarah Ali, YouTube’s senior director of product, according to NBC News“It’s about giving you the tools to get there faster.”
DeepMind’s Veo generative video model, developed by Google, will also be integrated into the platform. To encourage wider use of YouTube Shorts videos, the AI creates six-second video clips, which will be tagged with a SynthID watermark. All the AI needs to create the short videos is a text prompt.
A marketer could drive engagement by using AI to quickly create a video that lists the benefits or features of a product or service. Instead of spending hours developing and editing a video, it could potentially take just a few minutes.
YouTube’s video dubbing tool is also getting some AI improvements. AI-generated subtitles will be available in different languages. Marketers will be able to use the tool to improve their branding and target audiences in countries that were previously inaccessible due to language barriers. Another addition will be the ability to mimic the tone and pitch of the original speech in the video.
Earlier this year, YouTube tested a collaborative ‘Notes’ featureThe experimental tool adds contextual information, which helps explain and clarify video content for viewers.
AI is making video creation faster and sometimes more engaging. According to YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, about 92% of creators are already using the technology. With YouTube’s new, easily accessible AI tools, marketers are more likely to adopt the technology to grow and improve brand awareness.
