Heesen Yachts has launched Serena, a 55-metre superyacht managed and sold by Arcon Yachts Monaco. Construction of Serena began in spring 2022, with the owners working closely with Heesen engineers and Luca Dini’s design and architecture team to customise the yacht to their preferences. The owners, experienced in yachting, sought to create a comfortable and convivial interior for extended stays on board. Serena’s interior design focuses on comfort and practicality, with particular attention paid to the seating arrangements and the use of luxurious yet user-friendly materials. The yacht’s layout has been optimised by the Arcon team, with particular emphasis on the main deck bars and skylounge. The atrium, a stand-out feature of Serena, spans three decks and is adorned with hand-blown glass and hand-sculpted metal lighting fixtures by John Pomp, creating a distinctive atmosphere. The interior design is inspired by Alvar Aalto’s principle that “beauty is the harmony of purpose and form.” Light woods, smoked eucalyptus, bronze metal accents, soft fabrics and leather are used throughout to create a warm and welcoming environment. The use of Amazonite marble inlays adds elegant touches, while herringbone wood paneling enhances the sense of space in the atrium and lobbies. The yacht’s main saloon is divided into three zones, with a fully equipped bronze-finished bar serving both the main deck aft terrace and the lounge area, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The Sky Lounge serves as a social hub, with a hammered bronze bar, custom game table and ample seating for entertaining. Serena also includes a beach club designed to resemble a waterside salotto, with natural light filtering through glass portholes. The yacht’s sauna features a larger glass door and refined wood finishes. The 110 square metre sundeck offers flexible furniture arrangements, providing various seating options and a forward seating area ideal for enjoying the view while cruising. The yacht can accommodate 12 guests in five cabins. The owners’ quarters, located on the forward main deck, include a lounge, office area, a full-beam cabin with a veranda, walk-in closets and a spacious bathroom. The lower deck houses four guest cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom with unique marble patterns. The bridge deck includes a gym that can be converted into a cabin if required. The tender and toys are stored on the forward main deck, ensuring easy access for the crew without disturbing the guests. Eric Molegraaf, Heesen Project Manager, highlighted the smooth collaboration between the owners and the shipyard, crediting the owners’ clear vision and experience at sea. Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts Monaco expressed his satisfaction with the project, noting that Serena is the second Heesen 55-metre class yacht that they have sold and managed. He highlighted the yacht’s ability to combine a proven platform with custom design elements, making it a versatile and special vessel. The launch of Serena represents a significant milestone, showcasing the successful collaboration between Heesen Yachts, Arcon Yachts Monaco and the yacht’s owners. The vessel is expected to provide an exceptional experience for all on board.
