The second global summit on the safe development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies took place in South Korea. At the previous summit held in the United Kingdom, participating countries signed the Bletchley Declaration.
The development of AI presents significant potential for the Ukrainian economy and society. This technology can improve efficiency in various sectors and enable the creation of new products and services. However, it is crucial that the use of AI remains ethical and responsible, and that it benefits people rather than causing them harm.
The summit participants agreed on a ministerial declaration, which Ukraine joined. A total of 27 countries and EU representatives endorsed the declaration, which focuses on three main goals: safety, innovation and inclusiveness in AI.
“Ukraine’s participation in the AI Summit in Seoul and signing of the Ministerial Declaration is a clear signal of our commitment to the responsible and ethical development of AI. We are already actively working on the implementation of AI in various sectors, boosting the economic development of Ukraine and improving the lives of our citizens,” said Georgiy Dubynskyi, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, who represented Ukraine at the summit.
