Udacity unveils the “Discovering Ethical AI” course
Online education company Udacity announced a new course, “Discovering ethical AI” in response to recent federal guidance regarding safeguards for the safe and ethical use of artificial intelligence, according to a company blog post.
The course, along with three others, will be available for free until May 11 and will be continually updated as new information emerges in this rapidly evolving field, the company said.
The course will be taught by Ria Cheruvu, AI Software Architect at Intel. The course focuses on the reasons, principles and guidelines/regulations for integrating ethics into the development of AI models. More specifically, the course will consist of:
- Define ethical AI and explain its principles;
- Identify the actors of AI ethics;
- Apply ethics to AI lifecycles;
- Identify the stages of an AI life cycle;
- Look at case studies; And
- Examine the ethical challenges of AI, from harmful content in chatbots to biased images.
“Discovering Ethical AI” is a one-hour online course. Three other one-hour “discovery” courses on AI are also offered free of charge until May 11: “Discovery of artificial intelligence and machine learning”, “Discovering Data Science” And “Discovering digital transformation.”
Longer and more advanced AI courses are also offered under Udacity’s subscription plan.
