Artificial intelligence has played a transformative role in protecting and securing data, not only strengthening defenses but also propelling businesses into a realm of unprecedented productivity and trust.
The partnership between Palo Alto Networks Inc. and Google Cloud played an important role in combining cybersecurity and AI, as both companies work to protect organizations’ digital assets. As businesses navigate the complexities of the digital landscape, it becomes imperative to adopt AI-powered security solutions.
“One of the biggest challenges people want to adopt AI for is trust and security,” said Munish Khetrapal (photo), vice president of Google Cloud at Palo Alto Networks. “We have implemented a security platform. We want to protect our customers as they transition to AI. We can create a lot of value.
Khetrapal spoke to analysts at CUBE Research John Furrier, Rob Strechay And Rebecca Chevalier has Google Cloud next 2024, in an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming studio. They discussed the partnership between Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud and how it represents a step forward in revolutionizing the approach to cybersecurity by leveraging AI and cloud technologies. The new AI paradigm
AI goes beyond simple technological progress: it is a new paradigm for businesses. The transformative power of AI positions it as a catalyst for unprecedented productivity growth, according to Khetrapal.
“This is a common conversation we have with our customers every day,” he said. “Our goal is really to secure AI. We will use AI to create better security. One of the most important use cases for AI will be its application to cybersecurity.
The critical role of AI in addressing pressing trust and security challenges in AI adoption was at the heart of the discussion. With Palo Alto Networks’ security expertise, combined with Google Cloud’s infrastructure prowess, the collaboration aims to inspire confidence and improve security for businesses venturing into AI adoption. This multibillion-dollar commitment represents a tangible investment in fostering a secure AI landscape.
“It’s primarily for disconnected networks, defense networks, sovereign cloud infrastructure, where we’ve integrated our next generation security platform, the zero trust platform, across the capability set that customers can deploy AI,” Khetrapal said, referring to the new Google Data. Cloud infrastructure in partnership with Palo Alto Networks. “You don’t necessarily need cloud and internet connections to develop AI capabilities. »
Ensure trust with end-to-end security outcomes
Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud participate in co-engineering efforts and integrated solutions to deliver end-to-end security outcomes. With more than 50 co-designed integrations, the companies are joining forces to provide comprehensive security solutions that seamlessly traverse cloud environments and protect critical assets, according to Khetrapal.
“I think the testimony for us is not the fact that we are growing a hundred percent, nor that we have 25 products; (that’s) what customers deploying on Google Cloud infrastructure will like to be secure,” he said. “You don’t wake up in the morning and say, ‘I’m going to buy a great firewall.’ You get up in the morning to say… ‘I want to deploy a new application, improve my supply chain.’
Real-time security, enhanced by AI-driven insights, promises proactive threat identification and mitigation. This symbiotic relationship between AI and security represents the pinnacle of innovation, with Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud at the forefront to help drive this transformative change.
“That’s really where we announced the autonomous AI product, which we’re partnering with Google with,” Khetrapal said. “We use a lot of the Google Cloud infrastructure, the BigQuery infrastructure. It is the cornerstone of creating great AI. You have good data, good models and then you can provide great security. This is what we do in our SecOps platform.
