TechSpective Podcast Episode 129
You may not have noticed, but the tech and cybersecurity job market has kind of sucked in recent years. Maybe it’s just me. My friend Richard Stiennonresearch analyst at IT harvesting and author of Security directory 2024joins this episode of the TechSpective podcast to talk about the upcoming 5th edition of the Security Yearbook and share his thoughts on why he thinks everything is about to change.
“Hiring has been frozen for the last 18 months, but my advice is: “Hold on.” All hell is going to break loose,” Stiennon said.
He adds: “I am convinced that we are entering an era that will make the dot.com boom look like a failure. The world of technology will have an impact on the entire economy. We are going to experience a boom time like none of us have ever experienced.
What, you may ask, is the driving force behind Stiennon’s fervent optimism? AI.
Watch the full episode to learn more about what to expect in the Security Yearbook 2024, as well as the impact that AI and generative AI will have on the world, particularly the world of technology and cybersecurity. We also discuss the questionable reasons many companies have given for laying off employees and why it is shortsighted and potentially damaging to a company’s brand to eliminate marketing or scale back too much, even when the economy is in decline.
