Data from Liftr Insights provides objective figures on the growth of AI across the world.
AUSTIN, TX, December 11, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Liftr Insights, a pioneer in unique data-driven market intelligence, revealed strong growth in cloud AI when it comes to AI options and costs.
The quarter isn’t over, but Liftr Insights data is already showing strong signs for AI in the Cloud in Q4. The number of unique AI instance types increased by 11.3% over the last three months. Data from Liftr Insights shows that most of this growth began in the second half of the year September 2024.
If the power and performance of AI accelerators have increased significantly in recent years, so have their prices. The recent average price per AI accelerator core was $2.75from a low point of $2.30 at the end of 2023, and the highest point since the end of 2020 according to detailed half-decade historical records from Liftr Insights.
“We work with enterprise clients to find the right type of data to enable them to make and support financial decisions,” says Tab Schadt, CEO of Liftr Insights. “They need to know about comparative offers, global availability and, of course, pricing to improve their bottom line.”
While most instances are based on NVIDIA, Liftr Insights data reveals the presence that AMD has begun to establish with its MI300X in specific regions around the world. Liftr customers also see instances from Intel and Qualcomm as well as AI instances developed internally by AWS and Google.
“Intelligent analysts leverage objective AI data,” says Schadt. “Liftr Insights delivers the precise information they need. »
The data also shows where growth is occurring. For example, the number of AI instance types increased by 9.1% in Africa since the end of 2023, and the price per GPU AI has increased from $2.39 has $3.18 throughout this period. This figure is significantly higher than rates closer to $2.00 only a few years ago.
“Companies making financial decisions about AI infrastructure are looking for this type of information,” says Schadt. “They want reliable, objective sources to finalize their budgets and forecasts. They just wish they had Liftr Insights data sooner.”
