Elite panel discusses the digital future
Softlink’s influence extended beyond its booth. Founder and CEO Amit Maheshwari participated in a high-level panel discussion alongside key industry leaders from Google, JSW, Kale Logistics and Schaeffler India. The session, titled “Harnessing advanced technologies for resilience, efficiency and innovation in the supply chain,” saw the panel address the transformative impact of AI and the importance of connected ecosystems for overall efficiency of businesses. Amit, renowned for his visionary vision since the 90s, highlighted the need to create an end-to-end ecosystem through ‘logistics superhighways’ and emphasized that digitalization is no longer optional but essential for businesses to survive a era of rapid automation.
Asked by moderator Tej Contractor, chair of FIATA’s Information Technology Advisory Council, on the ever-present question of whether AI will eliminate jobs, the panelists agreed that jobs would not be eliminated. On the contrary, the nature of jobs will change, just as it did with the advent of computers and the Internet – hence the need for a positive attitude towards change and the need to improve skills. SKILLS.
