Snapchat introduces a series of news augmented reality Purpose-built (AR) and machine learning (ML) tools for advertisers at IAB NewFronts 2024.
The company highlighted its continued investments in ML and automation to streamline the creation of augmented reality test items. Snapchat reported a significant reduction in the time needed to develop these elements, allowing brands to quickly transform their 2D product catalogs into engaging experiences.
“Today, Snap returned to IAB NewFronts with “More Snapchat” to bring the magic of Snapchat to life for partners and announce new content solutions, programs and partnerships that enable advertisers to connect with Snapchat’s unique and growing audience,” Snapchat said in a press release.

Snapchat Introduces AR Extensions for Advertisers

This allows brands to seamlessly showcase products and brand experiences through augmented reality in their advertising campaigns.

Snapchat also unveiled partnerships with major sporting events like NBCUniversal’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This partnership integrates Snapchat’s most popular creators into the coverage, providing fresh perspectives and engaging content on key Olympic moments.
Additionally, Snapchat announced the launch of Snap Sports Network, a dedicated sports channel within the platform that covers unconventional sports and activities.
This content program combines user-generated and scripted content with AR applications, creating interactive experiences for Snapchatters and providing sponsorship opportunities for brands.

In the future, Snapchat aims to expand Snap Nation to cover 30 festivals and tours across the United States, providing opportunities for advertisers to engage through branded content, AR lenses leveraging Live Nation’s intellectual property and other innovative formats.
