Singtel has unveiled RE:AI, a cloud service that aims to make AI technologies widely accessible to organizations.
RE:AI combines AI compute infrastructure – including graphics processing units (GPUs) and storage – with AI workspaces and tools, delivered through Singtel’s orchestration platform. Paragon.
Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo, said: “Many enterprises and public sector clients have shown keen interest in integrating AI into their operations.
“However, the high costs and long lead times of GPUs, the need for special environments to host them due to their intense energy usage, the complexity of AI technology, and the lack of talent are challenges. key sticking points in their respective journeys.”
The RE:AI platform seeks to address these challenges by providing a turnkey AI development and deployment solution. This approach allows customers to deploy, manage and scale their AI applications without the overhead of complex infrastructure, potentially driving innovation and productivity across various industries.
Singtel’s strategy to democratize AI encompasses five key areas:
- Creation of a cloud platform for AI research and development
- Facilitating AI adoption for advanced manufacturing
- Ecosystem development to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions
- Curation of technology incubation and acceleration programs
- AI skills training to empower the workforce
To support these initiatives, Singtel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several partners. These collaborations aim to improve AI adoption, provide access to GPUs and support the attraction, development and upskilling of talent in Singapore, aligning with the country’s evolution . National AI 2.0 Strategy frame.
Notable partnerships include:
- Collaboration with National Supercomputing Center Singapore and AI Singapore to develop an AI-based research and development platform for the research community.
- Partnership with Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to promote AI adoption in the sector advanced manufacturing.
- Developing ecosystems with AI companies such as AlphaSense, H2O.AI, Hippocratic.AI and Hive AI to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions and services.
- Launched an AI Accelerator Program in collaboration with Digital Industry Singapore to attract and support AI technology companies.
- Cooperation with AI Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore to develop AI training programs for Singtel employees.
“With the launch of RE:AI, we are significantly lowering the barriers to entry, making AI easily accessible to businesses, government agencies, research communities and academia – the more people have access to AI , the more innovation is bound to emerge, which, in turn, fuels growth,” explains Chang.
This initiative is part of Singtel’s broader strategy to accelerate the digital transformation of businesses, starting with scalable digital infrastructure and AI solutions. This includes the development of sustainable, hyperconnected, AI-ready data centers through its NXERA data center arm.
