Saudi Arabia will host the third World AI Summit in Riyadh from September 10-12, aiming to position itself as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and highlight the crucial role governments play in using AI to drive economic growth. Themed “Harnessing AI for the Betterment of Humanity,” the summit will focus on the ethical development of AI and its applications in various sectors, including transportation, urban planning, mental health, and resource management. The event will also explore the role of AI in governance, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, Chairman of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, stressed that the summit will examine the current capabilities of AI, its future potential, and the ethical guidelines needed to ensure its positive impact on society. The summit is expected to attract more than 300 experts and speakers from 100 countries and will feature more than 120 interactive sessions and workshops. These sessions will cover a wide range of AI-related topics, including the development of generative AI and its integration into smart cities.
