Samsung’s Bixby AI aspirations
This is a step toward improving Samsung’s Bixby and eventually achieving parity with other leading chatbots, such as ChatGPT.
Won-Joon Choi, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, said he believes the company needs to redefine the purpose of Bixby in order to be able to use generative AI in the future and to become wiser.
This is due to the introduction of huge language model technology and generative AI. Choi said that Samsung is “working very hard” on developing generative AI capabilities for Bixby, but they could not specify when these features might become accessible.
Currently, Bixby can only be used to enable Samsung’s Galaxy AI capabilities for hands-free users; it does not fully support AI per se; rather, it serves to enable Samsung’s other AI tools.
