Saab acquired an artificial intelligence company based in Silicon Valley, California CrowdAI with the aim of expanding its portfolio with AI and machine learning capabilities.
As part of the agreement, the acquired company’s future operations will be primarily in San Diego, California, and Devaki RajCEO and co-founder of CrowdAI, will join Saab as chief digital and AI officer, the Swedish defense technology maker announced Thursday.
“As part of Saab, the team we have built will open new doors for dual-use technology advancements that align with the Department of Defense’s priorities,” remarked Raj.
Michael Johanssonpresident and CEO of Saab, said CrowdAI brings AI/ML capabilities to enhance Saab’s existing portfolio of technology offerings.
“(With) the recent acquisition of BlueBear in the UK, this is another example of how we are meeting the emerging needs of our customers,” added Johansson.
