Qlik, the global expert in data analysis and integration, recently announced the creation of its first AI Council. This initiative aims to integrate the ethical development of AI at the heart of the company’s mission and its industrial proposition. Qlik aims to accelerate the responsible development of its AI-powered product portfolio with guidance from some of the world’s most renowned AI experts.
Qlik’s recent Generative AI Benchmark Report found that 31% of senior executives plan to invest more than $10 million in generative AI initiatives in the coming year. Additionally, 79% of these executives have already committed funds to generative AI tools or projects.
However, they recognize the need to combine data strategies to extract maximum potential. Furthermore, it is understood that if AI fundamentals are not properly regulated, it could pose serious threats to business operations. Qlik’s AI Council was created to guide customers through these challenges and recommend best practices.
AI Council members will exert influence within Qlik by guiding the direction of R&D, informing the product roadmap, and ensuring that the use of Qlik’s AI is focused on responsibility and ethics. The council’s role will also be to train Qlik leaders and employees to fully harness the potential of AI, while providing insight into the needs of business leaders tasked with proving the value of AI spending.
AI Council members include renowned experts such as Nina Schick, a global authority on generative AI; Dr. Rumman Chowdhury, pioneer of applied algorithmic ethics and founder of Humane Intelligence; Kelly Forbes, co-founder and executive director of the AI Asia Pacific Institute, and Dr Michael Bronstein, DeepMind Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Oxford.
“The creation of the Qlik AI Council is a significant strategic step forward, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to advancing AI with ethical principles at its core,” said Mike Capone, CEO of Qlik.
“Our goal is clear: to enable our customers to harness AI in a way that is not only transformative but responsible; but also perfectly integrated and regulated.
Qlik AI Council Member Rumman Chowdhury echoed this vision, saying: “We have reached an inflection point where innovations like generative AI are impacting the world in the same way than the Internet. »
“Now is not the time for complacency. Adopting AI is not as simple as some suggest, but falling behind is a risky game. By taking responsible action, organizations can enter a phase of “unprecedented innovation and I look forward to contributing to this evolution.”
The new AI Council also has its advocates in industry. Stephanie Robinson, head of business intelligence at JBS, said Qlik’s AI advancements “embody a responsible and pragmatic approach to developing enterprise AI. Qlik’s focus on enhancing AI applications aligns with our focus on using technology to facilitate meaningful business outcomes.
