At the invitation of Ms. Emilija Stojmenova Duh, Minister of Digital Transformation of Slovenia, Amb. Simona-Mirela Miculescu participated in the 2sd Global Artificial Intelligence Ethics Forum: Changing the Landscape of AI Governancewhich took place at the Brdo Congress Center in Kranj, on February 5 and 6, 2024.
The Forum brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers and industry leaders, to discuss and address the ethical challenges posed by AI. One of the main outcomes of the forum was the focus on strengthening national regulatory frameworks and institutions. The discussions highlighted the need for effective governance at the national level to ensure that AI technologies are developed and used ethically. This involves aligning national policies with the UNESCO Recommendation on AI Ethics and the new EU legal framework.
