AHMEDABAD: A controversy has erupted over the Vadodara office of the Gujarat BJP, which has further intensified with a new twist. Following a dispute over the inaugural plaque and the names inscribed on it, the plaque was quickly removed within 24 hours and replaced.
Today, Jain Muni Acharya Suryasagarji Maharaj intensified the debate with a scathing statement, questioning the need for the plaque and its timing, while criticizing the BJP high command for skipping an “auspicious moment”.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Jain Muni Acharya Suryasagar questions the BJP’s decision to install a plaque in his half-built office in Vadodara. He remarked: “On October 21, 1951, Shyama Prasad founded Jana Sangh in Delhi, with Hindutva at its core. The transition from Jana Sangh to the Bharatiya Janata Party was built on ideology and not individual importance.
Further criticizing the move, he added dryly, “What was the need for plaques in a half-built BJP office? And that too, without consulting an auspicious time? Is there a plaque installed at the BJP headquarters in Delhi?”
Acharya Suryasagar delivered a scathing critique of the Vadodara BJP, questioning its alignment with the party’s ideology. “Is the local BJP organization in Vadodara ignoring the fundamental principles of the party, or does it consider itself above the organization? It is incomprehensible,” he remarked .
