The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), in collaboration with the Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS), has brought together expert cybersecurity stakeholders to address issues related to cyber threats triggered by artificial intelligence.
Daily Trust reports that ONSA, through its National Cyber Security Coordination Centre (NCCC), has expressed concerns over the growing cyber threats generated by AI, especially in the banking sector.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, the Coordinator of the NCCC, Ahmad Abubakar, said the conference will hold in the country’s capital on October 17, to build a safer and more resilient cybersecurity landscape in the country.
“The partnership between ONSA and CSCS for this conference underlines our shared commitment to advancing Nigeria’s cybersecurity capabilities.
“We believe that through collective efforts, innovative solutions and strategic dialogue, we can better protect our digital infrastructure from the complex challenges we face today,” Abubakar said.
For his part, CSCS Director General Haruna Jalo-Waziri told reporters that the growing reliance on technology and digital infrastructure has led to an increase in cyber threats.
