Nuix is hosting its second XLR8 conference, focusing on the intersection between artificial intelligence (AI) and humanity in an ethical, civic and responsible framework. The event aims to address how organizations can manage the implications of AI while preserving ethical standards.
Brendan Dowling, Australian Ambassador for Cyber and Critical Technology at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Mr Dowling will outline Australia’s ambitions for AI readiness, discussing ethical frameworks, data management practices and investments in critical skills and infrastructure designed to build competitive businesses and trust in AI technology.
“This is more than just a conference,” said Jonathan Rubinsztein, CEO of Nuix. “This is an opportunity to be part of the conversation where humanity meets AI in the context of ethics, citizenship, responsibility and accountability, and how we, as world leaders, play a critical role in serving and protecting humanity.”
Rubinsztein highlighted the dual nature of AI’s impact. “While AI is transforming a wide range of industries with unprecedented innovation, it simultaneously raises significant risks and challenges around privacy, security and compliance. AI is a cornerstone of our approach to innovation, but we recognize that with a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, there is an urgent need to harness AI responsibly. As the steward of this powerful technology, Nuix advocates for a holistic, human-centric approach to AI governance and innovation.”
Nuix XLR8/2024 aims to bring together global experts committed to protecting their organizations and communities by unlocking the truth from complex data. The conference will take place in three major cities: Sydney, London and Nashville, and is expected to attract over 1,000 professionals committed to ensuring data integrity and organizational security.
The first event in Sydney is scheduled for September 4, followed by the London conference on October 1, and the final session in Nashville on October 10. In Nashville, the Honourable Jeff Bleich, former US Ambassador to Australia and Vice Chairman of the Board of Nuix, will deliver the keynote address on the theme of “Technology, Truth and Trust.” Other notable speakers include Liesl Yearsley Akin, CEO and AI pioneer in Australia; Dennis Chornenky, CEO of Domelabs AI in the US and Chief AI Advisor at UC Davis Health; Bryant Isbell, Managing Director of Baker Mackenzie; and Robert Veres, Chief Information Security Officer at Colonial First State.
