While every service provider who reads MSSP Alert is looking to learn about the latest cybersecurity trends and issues, we know that service providers are also interested in the rest of the tools they need to run their business, notably AI and IT management platforms such as RMM. and PSA.
With that in mind, we’re bringing you a weekly recap of some of the best content we’ve aired on affiliate site ChannelE2E.
This week includes several important articles, including details on the new CEO of TD Synnex, a new AI platform offering MSPs a no-code AP app builder, and information on the tool vendor’s new AI Ticket enhancements MSP Syncro.
Cybersecurity Consolidation: How an MSP Benefited from Standardization
Many MSPs today agree that cybersecurity is the third pillar of their technology stack, with the first two pillars being RMM and PSA. But this is a recent development. For years, cybersecurity was an add-on service and often an afterthought.
Such was the case with Buffalo, N.Y.-based MSP PCA Technology Group, which generated about $5 million in annual revenue for years. But PCA realized there was a major opportunity for MSPs, driven by demand for cybersecurity services in an increasingly complex threat environment.
While many did not view cybersecurity as an SME issue at the time, PCA realized it was a multi-faceted opportunity: they could increase their revenue, expand their customer base and at the same time increase the average size of their customer base.
“We did about $5 million in revenue for years, but about five years ago we started looking at ways to increase our revenue through managed services and cybersecurity,” Stephen Neuss, director of sales at PCA Technology Group, Inc., told ChannelE2E. “We have clients that are generally between 25 and 250 people. Our clientele has tripled in size,” he added.
Hatz AI offers MSPs a no-code AI app builder
Canalys said (about 10 months ago) that the AI sales opportunity in the channel is currently with systems integrators and that MSPs and MSSPs would follow in 18 months.
Maybe so, but many vendors and MSPs/MSSPs are currently working on how MSPs and MSSPs will help their clients implement AI and realize the benefits.
One of the newer vendors in this space is Hatz AI, co-founded and led by Jimmy Hatzell, a veteran of some of the best-known cybersecurity vendors that MSPs know, including Cyber QP, Barracuda MSP, and SKOUT Cybersecurity (which has was acquired by Barracuda for its MDR). technology).
Hatz AI launched its first products in March: AI Chat and AI Application Builder.
6 things to know: the new CEO of TD Synnex
Patrick Zammit will take the helm of TD Synnex as CEO effective September 1, replacing outgoing CEO Rich Hume who will remain a member of the board of directors.
This shift comes at a monumental time for the IT sector and industry as cloud computing, cybersecurity and AI change the landscape for everyone, including technology and IT distributors, MSPs, MSSPs and all distribution partners.
This change also comes as TD Synnex and the chain as a whole mourn the recent passing of Bob Dutkowsky, former CEO of Tech Data, a legend in the industry. (I had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Dutkowsky several times when he ran Tech Data and I was at Channel Insider. He always made himself available to members of the press. He was a true market leader.)
TD Synnex is ready to enter a new era and recently created and launched MSP Evolve, a consolidation of its resources and tools specifically designed to optimize operational excellence and accelerate business growth for the unique needs of service providers managed.
What will the leadership change at TD Synnex mean for MSPs? Certainly, the new MSP Evolve program is in the works under Zammit’s leadership as COO. Many vendors and distributors recognize that MSPs are a growing force in the industry and that other types of channel partners, including solution providers, are adding managed services revenue streams to their business models. ChannelE2E expects to see these trends continue. Additionally, ChannelE2E expects distributors such as TD Synnex to play a major role in helping MSPs accelerate their efforts to deliver advanced technologies such as AI to their end customers.
MSP tools provider Syncro rolls out AI ticket help
Syncro, a new MSP tools platform, has deployed a new AI-powered intelligent ticket management solution within its existing platform.
The company said in a statement that this feature is specifically designed to strengthen MSPs’ ability to handle more tickets more efficiently, with less time and effort.
Syncro, which named former Continuum CEO Michael George as new top executive in February, is one of several MSP tool vendors to add AI-based support to its core platform.
Syncro presents itself as a unified remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA) platform. These are the two key tools/platforms that are considered the core of every MSP’s operations and stack.
