Organized by the Ministry of Interior, the event will be held from October 29 to 31 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center and will welcome interior ministers from friendly and allied countries as well as security companies.
At a press conference on Sunday, Chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee Major General Nasser bin Fahd al-Thani said the event reflected Qatar’s commitment to advancing technological capabilities to meet challenges growing security concerns and support security needs aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
One of the highlights of this edition of Milipol will be a special two-day international conference on artificial intelligence (AI) for homeland security and security technologies, scheduled for October 29-30. Leading global experts will discuss AI innovations and ethics focusing on four main themes: AI and intelligent technologies, AI in security operations, AI ethics and security challenges and opportunities in AI.
The conference highlights Qatar’s pioneering role in the region and internationally, in addressing complex security and legal issues related to AI, offering recommendations to guide the positive application of AI technologies for the benefit of government and sustainable development.
“This positions Qatar as a pioneer in the region and the world in approaching this complex topic from multiple security and legal perspectives, offering recommendations for positive regulation and the use of AI technologies to support governments and current technological developments essential to growth,” explained the manager. .
Anne Fresinet, director of the international Milipol network, highlighted the importance of the event in keeping pace with the rapidly evolving security landscape. “Milipol Qatar provides a platform that brings together governments, industry leaders and security experts to address ongoing changes in the global security environment. Our main commitment is to strengthen cooperation and present solutions that directly address these complex challenges,” she said.
