Microsoft is integrating AI into one of its oldest Windows tools in a bid to increase the usability of its applications.
Microsoft is going big with its focus on AI where some of it can be useful and others seem gimmicky. But the new update coming for Windows users will surely bring a new facet of the application called Notepad. Windows 11 users will soon integrate AI into the popular tool that will not only help you rewrite sentences with just one click.
Notepad AI Update: How Rewrite Works
Notepad has typically been used for basic text formatting edits, but the integration of AI means the tool is now becoming more improved and reliable for tasks like rewriting and correcting sentences . The feature is available to those enrolled in Windows 11 Insider, Microsoft’s beta program, and they must sign in to their Microsoft/Outlook account to receive the benefits of the AI features.
Speaking of the tool itself, Windows 11 users can select the sentence or paragraph to rewrite and then right-click to see the AI adjustment feature. The AI technology will then offer several versions, and you can select one according to your needs.
The AI rewrite tool is limited to certain regions like the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany, among others. Windows 11 users in India will likely have to wait a little longer to try this new AI feature if they use Notepad a lot for their daily tasks.
In other AI company news, Microsoft has been testing its AI-powered chatbot for Xbox for several months and the update is now available for select users. Named Support Virtual Agent, it’s an AI-powered technology designed to help Xbox players resolve support-related gaming difficulties more effectively. According to the tech giant, the AI chatbot can quickly obtain information from Xbox help pages to answer questions about Xbox console and game support difficulties.
According to reports, US-based Xbox Insiders can try the Xbox AI chatbot via support.xbox.com and it will answer queries regarding Xbox console and game support issues.
