From phishing attacks to ransomware, organizations face constantly evolving threats that require adaptive cybersecurity solutions to defend. increasingly sophisticated adversarieslike organized crime and Nation states. These challenges require adaptive solutions spanning cloud, on-premises and edge environments.
Dell Technologies Inc. and its partners strive to provide businesses with the tools they need to remain resilient in diverse environments by offering flexible, integrated security services.
“We are definitely executing on our strategy,” said Arun Krishnamoorthy (photo), Senior Director of Cybersecurity Product Management at Dell Technologies. “Our program is based on two key pillars. In particular, we want to ensure that our customers have a consistent cyber resiliency experience, whether they have workloads in the data center, at the edge, or in the cloud. And number two is obviously we really wanted to grow as a market leader.
Krishnamoorthy spoke to CUBE Research Dave Vellante in a CUBE conversation at Dell’s “Partnering for Smarter Security” event during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming studio. They explained how Dell is integrating artificial intelligence into its cybersecurity services to improve the detection and response capabilities of organizations in varied environments. Integrate detection and response into cybersecurity solutions
According to Krishnamoorthy, one of the biggest challenges for modern businesses is managing detection and response efforts in a fragmented technology landscape. Companies often find they rely on multiple security vendors, leading to a complex ecosystem that can be difficult to manage. The industry is now moving toward a model that combines best-in-class cybersecurity solutions with comprehensive, integrated tool suites to streamline security operations.
“What Dell can do is the ecosystem we have in place,” Krishnamoorthy said. “We have about ten suppliers in our toolkit. And with these suppliers, we can offer our customers not only the best in class, but also the best in the suite – a sort of happy medium to achieve both goals.
According to Krishnamoorthy, detection and response efforts must span multiple layers of infrastructure, from edge computing to data centers and cloud environments. This effort requires a unified approach that ensures complete visibility across all assets, enabling faster identification and response to threats. Organizations are increasingly favoring solutions that allow them to maintain vigilance over their digital environments, ensuring rapid detection of anomalies and rapid response to incidents.
“When you look at the entire cybersecurity lifecycle – the preventive part, the policies (and) the controls – then you get into the detection response, which continually provides 100% visibility into all assets.” , said Krishnamoorthy. “Then there is incident response in terms of recovery, and finally, data protection recovery. Dell offers technologies and services across its portfolio, but more importantly, detection response is extremely critical.
The power of collaboration
The concept of cybersecurity as a team sport is gaining traction in the industry as organizations recognize that no single vendor can solve the entire problem of defending against cyberattacks, according to Krishnamoorthy. Collaboration between technology providers and service partners is essential to building a resilient defense system that spans the entire cybersecurity lifecycle.
“No vendor can solve this problem,” Krishnamoorthy said. “If we had solved this problem, we wouldn’t have heard about cyberattacks, but that’s not the case; there is excellent technology. Security is a team sport…and (managed security service providers) like Dell can tell that story for them.
This philosophy of partnership and teamwork is reflected in Dell Integration with Other Leading Vendorsallowing the company to offer more than just technology services, according to Krishnamoorthy. Dell’s cybersecurity services include everything from early detection and monitoring to incident response and data recovery to help provide comprehensive protection.
Adapting AI to cybersecurity
AI has had a profound impact on how cybersecurity solutions manage threats, according to Krishnamoorthy. AI offers significant potential not only to identify and mitigate threats, but also to predict attacks before they occur. As adversaries become more sophisticated, AI is poised to play an increasingly central role in detecting and responding to threats.
“We’ve sort of divided AI into three categories,” Krishnamoorthy said. “The first is ‘How can we protect the use of AI?’ » …The second is “How can we protect ourselves against AI?” » (and) the third area is “How can we protect ourselves with AI?” »
Dell’s approach is to integrate AI into its cybersecurity solutions and collaborate with partners to deliver innovative tools that stay ahead of emerging threats. Organizations can automate parts of the detection process using AI-driven analytical tools, helping to respond more quickly and effectively to new and evolving cyberattacks.
“There’s a lot going on in the field of AI,” Krishnamoorthy said. “We are still learning, but we are learning together and we are proactive. »
