Large language model company focused on security Hippocratic AI received his first patent by the U.S. Patent Office, which includes the company’s LLM innovations incorporated into its security-focused LLM, built with a constellation architecture dubbed Polaris.
Hippocratic AI’s generative AI solution focuses on non-diagnostic healthcare tasks such as medication onboarding and monthly reconciliation, hospital and payer policy issues, and EHR support.
The patent covers the company’s Polaris system, which includes its core model and the supporting models that make up its low-latency conversational AI system suitable for healthcare applications.
The company’s core model includes its Conversation Interface, a custom-trained LLM that uses clinical techniques to ensure patient compliance.
Its support models include various LLMs that analyze patient responses to ensure their safety and that the patient has not indicated that they would knowingly or unknowingly perform activities harmful to themselves, such as exceeding the amount of medication recommended by their provider.
Specific applications of the patent include admission tasks, preventive checks, scheduling and waitlist tasks, preoperative tasks, discharge tasks, insurance billing, and chronic care management tasks .
“Our first patent granted! …And it’s important. The constellation architecture is at the heart of the security of our system. Our system of multiple hardening LLMs is how we have made our product extremely secure”, Munjal Shah, co-founder and CEO of Hippocratic AI, said in a LinkedIn Post.
“Since we released our Polaris Architect 1.0 (and now 2.0), it has become a technique used by many other Agentic AI products. We are proud to say that the USPTO has recognized our innovation and pioneering status. I wanted to congratulate our crazy intelligence and creativity on this patent.”
