Etched’s new AI chip dubbed Sohu is expected to outperform the most advanced Nvidia H100 GPU by 20x in speed to run AI models like ChatGPT. This chip design primarily targets transformer models, which are needed to run large language models like ChatGPT. By relying exclusively on these models, Sohu could give them more computing power, potentially enabling huge out-of-the-box advances in specialization-based AI capabilities. Such specialization is expected to open up new avenues for AI applications and make processes much more efficient in visualizing real-time, multimodal, and multilingual AI interactions.

Tata Consultancy Services added 5,452 employees to its workforce in the June quarter, taking its total headcount to 6,06,998. The company is expected to hire around 40,000 new employees in the current financial year as it continues its recruitment drive.
