“Generative AI will impact jobs that include decision-making,” Coursera CEO says at Global Business Summit 2024
Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO of Coursera, spoke about the impact generative AI could have on people and jobs, particularly decision-making, strategy and media, at the Global Business Summit 2024 at Taj hotel in Delhi today.
At the Global Business Summit 2024, Coursera CEO said change brings opportunities and threats while talking about the evolution of AI. “Almost all jobs involving decision-making, strategy and media will be impacted by automation.” said Jeff Maggioncalda
He mentioned that what happens with generative AI is that a lot of people are going to be affected.
At the GBS Summit, he highlighted how the NEP equips students with the professional skills needed in the industry. Jeff said microcredentials can now be integrated into college education to make it more industry-friendly.
“The Indian structure here is really a model for countries,” the Coursera CEO said at the Global Business Summit 2024. He said that what they see in India at Coursera is a model that they plan to apply to other countries.
Speaking at the summit, he said businesses need people with the skills who can help turn around their business. He mentioned that it is difficult for an institution to keep up with how quickly things are changing.
Ultimately, Jeff Maggioncalda gave simple but meaningful advice to today’s youth: stay curious, passionate, and keep your body and mind healthy.
Joining Jeff at the event were Raghu Sundaram, dean of the NYU Stern School of Business, and Martin Raiser, World Bank vice president for South Asia.
