Google AI Updates: Artificial intelligence (AI) has seen tremendous growth over the past few months, with all major tech companies now introducing AI features to make their products more user-friendly.
From Maps to Search, tech giant Google also recently announced seven AI updates that provide more ways for users to ask questions, search for information, and get AI insights on everything the products.
These updates allow users to ask Google Maps more complex queries, such as “things to do with friends” to get curated answers with Gemini. They can also search for quick answers to their questions about a location, in addition to helpful review summaries. According to the company, these features are very useful when users do not have time to read each one.
“The latest AI update in Maps means that whether you’re traveling across town or across the world, you can get the most up-to-date information possible, when you need it. Also be sure to check out the new updates we’re making to Waze, Google Earth, and our developer products,” the company said.
Now, users can also upload PDFs, Google Docs, websites, YouTube videos and more to NotebookLM to glean new information and delve deeper into new topics.
Google Shopping, currently rolling out in the United States, helps users choose the right product. This feature uses AI to help you find the right products without guesswork.
“For example, when researching a product, an AI-generated brief will give you more details on the most important things to know before purchasing. And, as you browse the results, you’ll see AI-generated summaries of what to consider before making a purchase, as well as which products may (or may not) respond well to your needs,” Google explained.
Google Search has received a major AI update, expanding the types of questions people can ask.
In October, the company added even more updates, including helping people identify songs in Circle to Search, buy what they see, and search with videos.
All Chromebooks will now ship with the Gemini app, and Chromebook Plus laptops include new Google AI productivity tools like Live Translate, Help Me Write, Recorder app, and Welcome Recap, which help users get back there where they left off when connecting to a Chromebook.
