Gauthier Vasseur began his career in auditing, corporate finance and treasury, before turning to data and analysis in the early 2000s. He launched courses and conferences on information systems in finance with the French Association of Corporate Treasurers (AFTE). In 2004, he turned his attention entirely to technology, holding senior positions at Hyperion in Silicon Valley, later acquired by Oracle, Google, TriNet and Semarchy.
His teaching career began in 2008 at Stanford and in 2017 he founded Data Wise Academy, a business analytics training company. He now directs the Fisher Center for Business Analytics at UC Berkeley, focusing on research and teaching.
