LONDON, October 31, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The EY organization today announced the creation of the EY.ai Global AI Advisory Council (the Council) to provide the latest insights and guidance needed to stay at the forefront of intelligence technologies rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI).
The Council will serve as a critical resource, helping the global EY organization navigate the increasingly complex AI landscape. It will help drive innovation, strengthen the EY AI ecosystem, and responsibly address the societal impact of AI deployment with foresight and agility.
Support for EY.ai, the unifying AI platform launched in September 2023the Global AI Advisory Council will serve as a sounding board for the organization as it manages the scale of AI deployments and the constant pace of advancement of the technology. Recognizing the need for broad and diverse collaboration when deploying such effective technology as AI, the Council will focus its advice and input on three areas:
- Lead the development and deployment of AI across the EY organization and its affiliated entities around the world by sharing information on evolving technology, including advancements and emerging risks.
- Helping EY professionals serve their clients’ transformations and how they are deploying AI in their organizations, as well as the EY organization’s assessment of the broader AI-driven industry transformation and verticalization.
- Working to address global challenges through innovative uses of AI, including climate change, health and well-being, education, digital divide or access to tools by marginalized groups and societies, etc., while also working to mitigate risks to people and society.

With Sharma, Gil ForerDigital and Business Disruption Leader for the EY organization, will lead the Council, which will include a diverse set of industry and civil society leaders, including researchers, entrepreneurs, academics, ethicists and policy professionals focused on AI. Each Council member will possess in-depth knowledge and insights into the technical, business, ethical, societal and regulatory implications of AI. Together, Council members will provide insight into AI trends and their human implications, guiding governments and organizations in structuring and restructuring their models.
