As the number of client devices continues to grow in network environments, enterprises are seeing a growing need for greater visibility into device activity and a simplified way to manage devices from the data center to the network edge. To address these challenges, cloud networking company Extreme Networks has formed a co-innovation alliance with the Intel Connectivity Analytics program.
According to a study by Statista, the number of devices that companies have on their networks is skyrocketing, and spending on internet-connected devices is expected to reach $483 billion by 2027The collaboration between Extreme and Intel aims to solve the challenges posed by this dynamic by integrating data from Intel-connected devices into the Extreme AI Expert Solution – currently previewed with THE Extreme Labs Center – to further promote innovations centered on artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of networks, in particular by “significantly” improving the connectivity, performance and security of Wi-Fi.
Extreme said it is confident the partnership will provide increased visibility into the network and client devices, helping to optimize network performance, dynamically adjust bandwidth to prioritize critical devices, and improve security threat detection and remediation.
The companies said they will also support the ability to personalize user experiences and reduce operational costs by using network data, unique device data from PCs through the Intel Connectivity Analysis Software development kit and generative AI to make networks smarter, faster and more resilient.
“The network is the center of operations, innovation and experiences. By partnering with Extreme Networks, we are collectively making the network smarter, faster, more secure and more scalable,” said Eric McLaughlin, vice president and general manager of Wireless Solutions, Client Computing Group, Intel.
“By leveraging the wealth of AI-driven insights available through Intel’s millions of connected devices around the world and combining them with rich network data, we will help organizations reduce operational costs and deliver the best end-user experiences,” he added.
Nabil Bukhari, Extreme’s CTO and CMO of Subscription Business, spoke about the focus on advancing the network to improve human experiences.
“Partnering with Intel gives our customers a safer, simpler way to gain visibility into their network and client devices within a single platform,” Bukhari said. “By complementing our Extreme AI Expert solution with Intel Connectivity Analytics, we will deliver richer, more intuitive AI-driven insights and automation, resulting in smarter, more responsive experiences that improve everything from network optimization to quickly detecting and resolving security threats.”
