The Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law was adopted on 17 May 2024 by the Committee of Ministers and will be open for signature from September 2024.
What are the practical implications for justice systems that already use or are considering using AI systems? Are new approaches to assessing the impact of AI systems on human rights needed?
On 4 July, the European Cyberjustice Network (ECN) will discuss the interaction between the methodology project for the assessment of risks and impact of AI systems (HUDERIA) with sector-specific justice tools such as the CEPEJ “Assessment tool for the operationalisation of the European Ethical Charter on the use of artificial intelligence in judicial systems and their environment” as well as national approaches.
