In partnership with Divine Word University, professors and students from Handong Global University, South Korea, hosted a seminar on Data Analytics and AI in Business at Divine Word University in Madang from Wednesday, June 26 to Friday, June 28, 2024.
The seminar aimed to upskill and equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in data analytics and AI, which are increasingly essential in the modern business landscape.
This also applies to career advancement and allows participants to leverage these skills to advance their careers and remain competitive in the job market. Staff and students from the Faculty of Business and Computer Science participated in the seminar and received a certificate of completion.
In his opening remarks, DWU President Professor Father Philip Gibbs thanked the Korean university for its partnership and working relationship with Divine Word University.
Topics presented included advanced Excel applications in business, microlearning, Dart programming, and AI applications in business. Attendees found the seminar content novel, interesting, and enjoyable.
When asked about the most interesting aspect of the seminar, some appreciated the use of advanced Excel applications in business and how they can be used to solve practical problems. Some appreciated being introduced to the use of the Flutter platform, the Dart language and other tools in business. Many indicated that they would use the knowledge gained for their professional development and apply it in their studies and work.
Dean of the Faculty of Business and Computer Science Dr. Martin Daniel thanked the faculty and students of the Korean university for their good relationship with Divine Word University and their resources to host the seminar.
He also thanked the staff and students and encouraged them to build on the knowledge gained and apply it in their studies and work. Business and technology environments are changing rapidly, so he encouraged participants to keep up to date with these changes.
