The second edition of Deloitte’s India AI Forum, which provided a captivating exploration of the potential of Generative AI (GenAI), was held on January 30, 2024.
The forum provided a comprehensive overview of GenAI, covering its theoretical foundations, practical applications and future implications. Participants gained valuable insights through interactive sessions and real-life success stories. which delved into the nuances of optimizing data, building trust, and nurturing the human-machine relationship in the age of GenAI. One of the highlights of the event was a fireside chat on “The GenAI Paradigm: Impact on Society, Economy and the Future” which featured Romal Shetty, CEO of Deloitte Asia of the South, and Sonam Wangchuk of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives. They discussed a wide range of topics, including how AI can democratize education to realize its transformative potential, as well as the risks and challenges associated with its widespread adoption. In the session titled “Leading by Example: Deloitte’s Generative Approach,” panelists Saurabh Kumar, Partner, Deloitte, and Vishal Sharma, Managing Director, Deloitte, spoke about the company’s change journey with GenAI and how its delivery centers in India have adapted. to change. Vijay Veerachamy, Analytics Delivery Manager, Cargill; Anivesh Shandilya, Global Head of Data Architecture and Engineering, Unilever; Premal Buddhdev, Chief Technology Officer, Volkswagen; and Nithya Subramaniam, Kellogg’s, discussed the more practical aspects of implementing GenAI solutions, such as the perceived business value of the results and the ability of existing enterprise data to become a trusted foundation for GenAI. A fireside chat on “Trustworthy AI: The Last Mile to Generative AI Success” highlighted the importance of building trust in AI systems to ensure their success and adoption. Beena Ammanath, head of the Deloitte AI Institute, and Debashish Banerjee of Deloitte said that by focusing on sound AI principles, organizations can mitigate risks and maximize the value derived from GenAI solutions.
