The transformative power of technology drives innovation and opens up new possibilities in data analysis.
As businesses continue to navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape, the integration of AI and data analytics will undoubtedly play a central role in their business success. With Google LLC at the forefront of this revolution, the the future of data analytics never looked so promising.
“This allows users to do more with data, but also automate parts of the data analysis lifecycle that have historically been very repetitive, mundane, time-consuming and hard work,” said Yasmine Ahmad (photo), general manager of data analytics and AI at Google.
Ahmad spoke to CUBE Research analysts John Furrier, Rebecca Chevalier And Rob Strechay has Google Cloud next 2024, in an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming studio. They discussed the era of enterprise data and AI convergence, including Google product updates and the company’s commitment to democratizing data analytics. (*Disclosure below.)
The frontier of data analytics
Business data and AI are revolutionize traditional business practices, according to Ahmad. The integration of BigQuery, Vertex AI and Gemini promises to open up new possibilities, allowing users to harness the power of AI directly in their secure data environments.
“With BigQuery, we are the AI-ready database,” Ahmad said. “It’s a unified foundation with one access control layer, one set of governance for unstructured structured data… being able to have a single unified access layer, single governance for that data means for our customers that they feel they have a basis of trust. to deploy AI generation on top.
One of the most compelling aspects of Google’s offerings is its commitment to democratizing data analysis. With tools like Gemini and BigQuery, the barriers to entry for leveraging AI and analytics are significantly lowered. By streamlining processes and automating repetitive tasks, Google allows organizations to focus on innovation and value creation, Ahmad added.
“I would first talk about integrating AI generation into enterprise data for the clients we work with,” she said. “They don’t want to take their data out of their secure data cloud. They want direct BigQuery/Vertex AI integration…that direct connection between BigQuery and Vertex AI really allows businesses to use AI generation on top of their enterprise data.
The Future of Data Analytics
There is also a need for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, including attracting more women and young talent, according to Ahmad. As technology continues to shape our world, fostering a diverse workforce becomes crucial to drive innovation and address complex challenges.
“Earlier we talked about how young people gravitate,” she said. “I think they see the excitement about this space and what it can do. We must capitalize on this momentum. I think bringing more women into tech is super, super important. If we look at all the use cases and things that are emerging, with generative AI and creativity, that’s something that we can also leverage to get more people interested in this space.
From accelerating AI adoption to reinventing traditional workflows, Google Cloud offerings are poised to shape the future of data analytics. With a focus on accessibility, scalability and security, Google is leading the charge toward a more data-driven and inclusive future, according to Ahmad.
“That’s why businesses come to Google, because we have the scalability, security and performance,” she said. “Now with built-in AI generation, what you want to do is up to your imagination.”
