Four in five consumers will use artificial intelligence to make life-changing decisions by 2030. Additionally, 80% of consumers could use AI-based simulations in the next decade to make life-changing decisions their life, like buying property, buying stocks, etc. Additionally, consumers could also use AI health simulations to make lifestyle changes. Here are some of the findings from Ericsson ConsumerLab’s “10 Hot Consumer Trends 2030s – the AI-Powered Future” report.
The report states that more than 60 percent of AI technology users believe they will not have full control over the impact of AI on their lives by 2030. This figure still rises to 70 percent for those who are skeptical about the role of AI in daily life. Although a few said that patterns of use of AI technology will be fragmented in the future, more than 95% of respondents believe that at least some AI Trends will become reality.
Based on the responses, the report teases out some trends in AI that could become a reality by the 2030s. Here are the details:
- Artificial buyers: 75% of respondents believe that AI-based shopping assistants will replace advertisements and that large technology companies will use these AI-based assistants to influence consumer purchases.
- Generative Fashion: According to the report, six in ten respondents agree that humans in the 2030s will resort to plastic surgery to achieve AI-generated beauty standards.
- Life simulations: Nearly half of respondents said users would use AI-based simulations to reduce uncertainty in daily life. For example, the report states that humans in the 2030s may be faking marriages in preparation for future changes and divorces.
- AI-assisted childcare: The report states that AI will play a major role in helping childcare improve children’s skills. However, 74% of respondents said that AI assistance in childcare would reduce children’s creative and emotional intelligence.
- AI for employment: AI could improve the performance and efficiency of workspaces. Additionally, 67% of early adopters of AI technology believe AI will be necessary to get a job.
- Coexistence with AI: The report states that in the future, as AIs begin to be increasingly interconnected with each other, coexistence with AI will become difficult for humans. This argument was supported by 59 percent of those surveyed.
Although these AI trends paint a mixed future for AI technology, the majority of research participants said future AI regulations will allow citizens to opt out of using AI .
Ericsson ConsumerLab said it consulted 6,500 early adopters of AI technology in 13 different cities around the world to draw conclusions on how AI will affect the consumer by 2030. Early adopters were asked to this technology to evaluate 120 digital service ideas in 15 areas. , ranging from fashion and entertainment to professional life and simulations.
