China Telecom Global has launched its Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center and Security Innovation Center in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong-based unit of the Beijing-based telecom group said the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center in collaboration with China Telecom Artificial Intelligence and the Security Innovation Center with China Telecom Security represents “an important step in implementing China Telecom’s strategy for high-quality development, creating new productive forces and advancing its cloud and digital transformation initiatives.”
China Telecom Global aims to seize strategic opportunities presented by the country’s high-level opening-up policy.
The company focuses on accelerating business innovation and structural optimization to drive growth in international operations, aiming to position them as a key growth engine for China Telecom.
The establishment of innovation centers within China Telecom Global aims to better integrate and coordinate internal and external resources, thereby promoting the overseas deployment of China Telecom’s mature capabilities in artificial intelligence and security.
This move aims to leverage the synergistic advantages of China Telecom’s cross-border operations and innovative product capabilities, injecting new vitality into the company’s international innovation development and giving new impetus to the growth of its international business.
In addition, the centers will focus on cutting-edge technological research and promote collaboration between industry, academia and overseas research, with the aim of creating a training hub for talents in artificial intelligence and security.
This effort aims to make a significant contribution to Hong Kong’s development as an international innovation and technology hub and support the growth of the digital economy in the special administrative region.
