CES 2024 will be here before we know it, taking over Las Vegas with throngs of crowds, booths full of products, and plenty of companies making claims about how AI is improving their offerings. As noted in our CES previewAlthough the conference has had its ups and downs of late, it is increasingly becoming an opportunity for startups to attract attention as all eyes are drawn to announcements of larger budgets from Samsung, Sony and Nvidia.
TechCrunch will be on the ground at CES 2024 throughout the event next week, with a particular focus on startups that might just headline their own big livestream in a few years. You can follow our team’s coverage of CES on the site and on social media here, but let’s cut to the chase, because we all know these big events always matter.
Monday, January 8 will offer consumer technology and transportation enthusiasts plenty to watch starting at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET, with many of the highest-profile press conferences broadcast live to the public, as is become the norm. These events will set the stage for the CES public show which opens on January 9 and continues through January 12.
As you’ll see in the recap below, AI will be the common thread for almost every major event, as CES 2024 fully marks the first iteration of the event. in the new era centered on AI.
We’ll keep this list updated as the big day approaches and schedules change, but for now, these are the more expensive companies looking to make a splash before the convention doors open and the start of the CES 2024 for in-person attendees on Tuesday. .
Nvidia
8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET
CES is wasting no time getting to one of the main events. Nvidia arrives at the event in great shape on its recent AI-powered growth. So it’s no surprise that Nvidia is promising to focus on AI and content creation during its CES keynote.
LG
8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET
At the same time, LG will present its own updates, although it has already shown part of its contribution in releasing details of its new OLED TV range, featuring AI processors that it claims will significantly improve visual and audio fidelity compared to previous models. LG will also showcase updates on home, mobility and, you guessed it, AI at its CES event.
Asus
9 a.m. PT / noon ET
Asus wins the award for most hyperbolic teaser at CES, as it aims to put viewers “in search of incredible transcendence.“It is a way of framing the formal revelation of what Asus has already shown to be a new dual-screen laptop design.
Honda
10:30 a.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. ET
Honda has been pretty clear about what to expect from its CES event this year: the reveal of a new EV series, with a purple preview of its form factor. Will this coincide with More details on Honda’s partnership with Sony for the Afeela brand revealed at CES 2023? Time will tell us.
Hyundai
1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET
Hyundai’s most interesting reveal appears to be an update to its Supernal eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle), which was first shown off at CES 2020. In addition to its CES launch, Hyudai holds separate events on Tuesday focused solely on the eVTOL concept and its vision of mobility hubs allowing these flying vehicles to take off and land. Beyond its aerial ambitions, Hyundai will talk about sustainability, software and of course AI in a planned, but not yet public, debate. on their YouTube channel.
Samsung
2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET
If you’re looking for Samsung phone news, you’ll have to wait until January 17. when their next Unpacked event will start. As has been the case for several years, Samsung will focus on the rest of its product lines at CES 2024.
And these products are poised to benefit from the rise of AI, if the title of their press conference “AI for All: Connectivity in the Age of AI” wasn’t a signal sufficient. Samsung has already revealed some AI applications in the kitchen and in his updated range of robot vacuum cleanersand we expect more its CES event broadcast live via their editorial site.
Sony
5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET
Witness the Ghostbusters logo with a VR headset This is exactly the kind of corporate synergy CES is designed for. Sony has highlighted the use of its technology in its film and gaming efforts at past CES events, and with a focus on “Fueling Creativity with Technology,” it appears to be more of the same at CES 2024 .
