One thing is clear: humans need to stay in the know. Nonetheless, the vital role of human surveillance is emerging in strictly important areas, including crime, medicine, and self-driving cars. AI can make decisions using data sets and provide recommendations, but making decisions based on morality requires context and emotional intelligence not found in a machine.
For example, Deep Mind, a subfield of artificial intelligence, has been used in the healthcare industry largely for the diagnosis of eye diseases. Although these systems exhibit high accuracy, they still need doctors to review the AI results and determine whether the proposed treatment is suitable for that particular patient. In each of these cases, AI is used as an instrument for humans in particular professions, but not to replace them.
