Dating app Bumble set to launch new artificial intelligence (AI) features to help users create profiles and support conversations, CEO says Lidiane Jones.
Upcoming AI features will include a photo selection tool to help users choose their best selfies for their profiles. Additionally, Buzzing plans to introduce features that will help users write their bios and start conversations with matches.
Jones said these new AI-powered features are part of Bumble’s “ambitious vision” for how AI can improve the value it delivers to customers throughout their dating journey. The company aims to maintain high standards for profile creation while reducing user anxiety and friction during the process.
According to TechCrunch, the new AI-powered features are expected to roll out to the app this winter.
The move puts Bumble in closer competition with rival dating app Tinder, which recently launched its own AI-powered “Photo Picker” feature. Tinder currently has 9.6 million paying users, while Bumble reports 2.8 million users in Q2 2024.
Bumble has already implemented AI on its platform, including “Deception Detector” tool launched earlier this year to identify and block spam, scams and fake profiles. The company claims the feature has reduced such incidents by up to 45%.
