BlackBerry Ltd. today announced CylanceMDR Pro, a new managed detection and response service built on its artificial intelligence-based Open XDR platform.
The new service is designed to address the challenges of modern cybersecurity by overcoming the operational burden faced by security teams as they must defend against increasingly sophisticated adversaries across expanding attack surfaces.
CylanceMDR Pro is touted as an ideal solution for growing businesses looking to quickly improve their cybersecurity capabilities without having to overhaul their existing security infrastructure or, conversely, hire additional analysts and threat hunters. The service’s extensive detection and response architecture integrates with existing security tools to provide deep visibility into an existing IT configuration without having to replace existing tools.
The new MDR service includes more than 300 platform integrations, enabling users to transform their existing data and applications into powerful security sensors that can detect threats that other solutions might miss. CylanceMDR Pro pulls telemetry from all potential attack surfaces, including endpoint, network, cloud, SaaS, identity, and email to accurately detect attack signals, delivering higher fidelity detections and rapid threat response.
CylanceMDR Pro is powered by Cylance AI, BlackBerry’s existing predictive AI that the company says has consistently outperformed other leading AIs in third-party testing. Cylance AI uses its intelligence to analyze attack signal telemetry, prioritize and present structured cases for faster human-led investigation and response, and stop attacks before damage occurs.
“The effectiveness of an MDR depends heavily on its underlying platform, its experts, and the breadth of services provided,” said Nathan Jenniges, senior vice president and general manager of BlackBerry Cybersecurity, in a statement. “Our AI-driven approach, combined with our team of security experts, delivers unmatched protection and peace of mind, allowing businesses to focus on what they do best.”
CylanceMDR Pro will be available to existing and new BlackBerry customers starting July 31.
