BlackBerry Ltd. announced the general availability of Cylance Assistant, a generative cybersecurity advisor intended to help organizations accelerate decision-making and stop threats faster with fewer resources. It combines advanced features that leverage Cylance AI capabilities, integrated into the cybersecurity platform.
The Advisor provides faster, expert advice and recommendations to security analysts and analyzes large amounts of data, combining it with threat research to provide recommendations in plain language, the company said.
Cylance Assistant evaluates, interprets and suggests the best course of action in real time by understanding context and providing advice without asking, according to BlackBerry. The result is faster investigations and reasonable resolution of security threats, including adversary AI and polymorphic malware. The assistant uses responsible, privacy-friendly AI principles and does not share customer data to train models.
“It helps thwart more threats and enables your staff to make faster, more informed decisions, taking your security operations to new heights.” Cylance Assistant understands context because it knows where you are in your investigation, reducing the time spent identifying and remediating risks at a single site. without incurring additional costs for the service,” said Shiladitya Sircar, senior vice president of product engineering and data science at BlackBerry.
Cylance Assistant uses Amazon Web Services’ generative AI service, Amazon Bedrock, to help organizations improve their cybersecurity operations and achieve better results. Amazon Bedrock offers core model options from leading AI vendors through a single API for businesses to build and scale generative AI applications.
“Cylance Assistant is a great example of how generative AI can help solve some of the world’s toughest challenges,” said Matt Garman, AWS senior vice president of sales and marketing. “As BlackBerry continues to drive innovation in cybersecurity, we’re proud to bring it the most popular and advanced base models with Amazon Bedrock.”
