BBVA, a financial services company based in Spain, has partnered with Telephone BBVA is looking to integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and process automation into its global cybersecurity operations. The collaboration leverages the expertise of Telefónica Tech, the Madrid-based telecommunications group’s digital services business, to strengthen BBVA’s cybersecurity capabilities globally. A new digital twin facility in Mexico will replicate BBVA’s existing cybersecurity center in Spain.
Telefónica Tech said: “The combination of the two will enable complete and uninterrupted coverage of the entire group… (BBVA) will integrate the latest (technological) advances… to detect, identify and respond to potential threats, as well as monitor the activity of cyber attackers.” The solution includes “nearly 50 services,” focused on threat detection, operational resilience and data center protection.
The Mexican center, fully operational this month, will oversee BBVA’s activities in the Americas, in collaboration with the Spanish center. This joint operation involves approximately 200 cybersecurity professionals who protect digital customers in more than 25 countries. This operation positions Telefónica Tech as an important cybersecurity partner for BBVA, strengthening one of the largest cybersecurity centers in the financial sector.
