Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, reported another strong quarter of growth, driven by new artificial intelligence features in its search engine. Second-quarter results showed Alphabet’s revenue rose 14% from a year ago to $84.74 billion, and profits rose 29% to $23.62 billion.
Launched in May, the AI service provides conversational answers to search queries, a development that has raised concerns among online publishers. However, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai remains optimistic, highlighting AI’s potential to transform society and improve Google’s services.
Google’s cloud computing division also performed well, with revenue of $10.3 billion, up 29%. Despite the gains, Google still faces a high-profile antitrust case from the U.S. Justice Department.
