Technology partner Wipro GE Healthcare will invest $1 million in this AI initiative focused on intelligent systems and workflow solutions addressing key clinical pathways in cardiology, oncology and neurology.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro GE Healthcare Pvt Ltd, a leading global healthcare technology provider, to establish a center for health AI innovations. The new hub will focus on developing products and solutions that improve healthcare delivery and outcomes through more accurate diagnosis, innovative treatment protocols and real-time patient data tracking.
As a technology partner, Wipro GE Healthcare will invest approximately $1 million over the next five years to co-develop, test and deploy intelligent systems and workflow solutions in cardiology, oncology and neurology. As the hub’s clinical partner, AIIMS will provide multi-modal clinical inputs and function as a real-world clinical environment for the assessment, feedback and deployment of GE HealthCare’s AI-based solutions. A joint working committee from the two organizations will oversee the collaboration, which will include clinical research and academic engagement.
According to the National AI Portal of India (INDIAai), AI technology promises a transformative leap for India’s healthcare system by 2025, potentially increasing GDP by $25-$30. Connecting longitudinal data (i.e. imaging, lab results, medical records, etc.) and overlaying it with analytics and AI can significantly improve diagnosis, streamline operations and improve patient care nationwide.
