Adobe is introducing its latest AI-powered Illustrator and Photoshop tools and other innovations that aim to empower designers and accelerate their productivity. These tools promise to open new ways for designers to imagine, iterate, and create designs more efficiently.
The latest version of Illustrator introduces several revolutionary features. One of the headline features is the new generative shape fill, currently in beta, which harnesses the power of Adobe Firefly Vector Template. This tool automatically fills any shape, from the simplest to the most complex, with a customizable vector design based on the designer’s instructions.
The Photoshop update, meanwhile, brings the new Generate Image tool. Powered by the Adobe Firefly Image 3 template, this feature creates entirely new images based on user input. It eliminates the blank page for designers who need to quickly start mockups or create concept art.
Boost productivity and accuracy
Ashley Still, senior vice president of digital media at Adobe, said, “The most creative people in illustration, design, photography and beyond trust Adobe tools to deliver the most innovative features to maximize productivity and accelerate workflows in ideation, design and production.”
Still ensures that new features in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are integrated directly into designers’ current workflows, allowing them to work faster and focus on what they do best: “sketch, design and realize” their creative visions.
For example, Illustrator’s new Mockup tool lets you create high-quality visual prototypes, automatically adjusting artwork to fit real-world objects like packaging and apparel. The Dimension tool lets you precisely size projects and is ideal for packaging design, architectural drawings, fashion patterns, and more.
Additionally, Retype converts rasterized text into dynamic, editable text, allowing users to customize the font and color as they wish.
Improved selection features in Illustrator are introduced with the new closed rectangular marquee text selection, providing more precision, which is useful in cluttered designs.
Additionally, navigating complex documents is now 10x faster with improved Pan and Zoom features.
Photoshop also offers new tools for simplified composition and adjustments with the new Selection Brush tool while the Adjustment Brush allows for non-destructive adjustments to specific image areas.
The Text tool was then improved to allow faster and less manual creation of bulleted and numbered lists. Finally, the contextual taskbar added settings for working with shapes and rotating objects.
Adobe’s Commitment to Ethical AI
Adobe remains committed to ethical AI development. Its Firefly AI models are trained on licensed and public domain content, ensuring they are safe for commercial use.
The company states that it adheres to Ethical Principles of AI of accountability, responsibility and transparency, as well as respect and support for creative communities.
The latest updates to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are already available across both apps. With these powerful additions to Illustrator and Photoshop, designers will have more flexibility and control over their creative process than ever before.
