Audio production company Abe’s Audio has introduced human-centric, AI-powered voiceovers, a first in the media and marketing industry.
“Ethical AI Voiceovers” is a new offering from the company, which aims to reduce costs for Australian media, advertising agencies, video content creators and online training providers. It also aims to protect voice talent and ensure they are compensated for the use of their voice.
For suitable projects, users will benefit from the speed and cost savings of AI, with the ability to have full creative control by leveraging human talent. Some projects – those that require creative direction, specific input or synchronization with the vision and those that include multiple brand names, locations or difficult pronunciations – will not be suitable.

“We worked with some of our most popular voiceover artists to create digital clones of their voices,” said Abe Udy, founder of Abe’s Audio.
“This means written scripts can be adapted into professional voiceovers and audio content using quality Australian voices,” he said. “We’ve combined the power of AI with the authenticity of real people.”
The audio company spent time with voice artists to record and edit hours of content, creating private digital voice clones. It put strict guidelines in place to ensure talent was protected and properly compensated for the use of their voices.
“What we care about most is ensuring that these talented voiceover artists are protected, treated fairly and compensated for their work,” Udy continued.
“AI is a disruptive force in our industry – and there are still many unknowns – but it is possible to operate more profitably and behave ethically.”
