B2B SaaS Sana launched its Sana AI chatbot for free after a year of the product being in development and available at a paid tier.
Sana automates workflow processes throughout recruiting, training, administration and content generation. Their new “AI Assistant” based on generative AI makes it easier for employees to browse their company’s knowledge database, including past meetings, without the need for coding assistance.
The data retrieval algorithm, R-4, has been in development since 2020. It combines intent analysis, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and agent actions to perform and execute complex knowledge flows through meetings, files and documents. The company claims that this algorithm gives the assistant a higher level of “understanding” of recorded verbal content.
The new app has accumulated a long waitlist after a year of high demand for the paid tier of the assistant, Sana AI Enterprise.
Founded in Stockholm in 2016 and now based in Rotterdam, lead engineer Viktor Qvarfordt believes the future of AI lies in hyper-personalization. When creating assistants, Sana AI Enterprise users can choose from the full range of language models, including those from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Mistral.
“Not all language models are equal: their individual strengths and weaknesses make them better suited to specific tasks. Sana AI chooses which model to use based on the query while allowing the business user to select a preference, providing access to the benefits of each specialized model without the cost of switching or adaptation.
Founder and CEO Joel Hellermark commented: “At Sana, we believe that augmenting human intelligence with artificial intelligence is essential to moving the world forward. Making Sana AI available to everyone starting today marks an important step towards realizing our long-term vision.
