Through its unique mandate, UNESCO has led the international effort to ensure that science and technology develop within sound ethical frameworks for decades. Whether it is genetic research, climate change or scientific innovations, UNESCO has set global standards aimed at maximizing the benefits of scientific discoveries while minimizing potential risks. This commitment ensures that progress contributes to a more inclusive, sustainable and peaceful world.
