While there is consensus among technology services CXOs on the need for generational AI regulation, opinions differ on who should design and govern the regulatory framework. Around 48% of technology services companies believe it should be the government, 25% want industry associations to play this role, while 20% prefer self-regulation.
“Generation AI is a major investment priority for CEOs and boards of Indian technology services companies,” said Nitin Bhatt, technology sector leader at EY India. “However, given that customer spending on AI has been lower than expected over the past 12 months, some experts have said the technology’s potential may have been overrated.”
“As technology evolves and compliance, security and ethics guardrails instill trust by design, companies will make bigger and bolder transformational bets to differentiate themselves from the market. We expect to see a significant increase in AI generation spending over the next three years,” Bhatt said.
