HANGZHOU, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) — The third World Digital Business Expo opened Wednesday in Hangzhou, capital of east China’s Zhejiang Province, showcasing the latest technological innovations and business development of the digital economy sector.
The 2019 edition, themed “Digital Trade, Global Access,” attracted more than 1,500 domestic and foreign enterprises, including more than 300 international companies. More than 30,000 buyers registered for the event, including more than 6,000 from foreign countries and regions.
A total of 446 new products and technologies will be showcased during the five-day expo. This year, the expo has set up special exhibition areas for robots equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) innovations and intelligent traffic solutions of the low-altitude economy.
According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the size of China’s low-lying economy is expected to exceed 500 billion yuan (about 70.1 billion U.S. dollars) in 2023, and its scale is expected to reach 2 trillion yuan by 2030.
Jointly hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the event is currently the only national exhibition dedicated to digital trade in China. China’s digital industry has seen strong growth in recent years, with a total turnover of 32.5 trillion yuan in 2023. ■
